Konga, Nigeria's largest online mall and Yudala, Africa's pioneer composite e-commerce company, are going to become one company. With the intended merger, Konga and Yudala will become the biggest organized retail and e-commerce/marketplace business in Africa.
From May 1st onwards, the two companies will operate under the Konga brand name. The merger will broaden the scope of organized retail and e-commerce in Nigeria as well as position Konga as the first profitable e-commerce company in Africa.
The two companies believe that Konga’s cutting-edge online platform, access to thousands of merchants and Yudala’s expansive network of fully stocked offline stores will boost business.
According to a report by BizTechAfrica, the merger includes Konga Online, the e-commerce/marketplace platform and Konga Retail, the offline arm of the business. Both will be supported by Konga Pay, a CBN-licensed mobile money platform and logistics company Konga Express.
