Job offer: taking care of panda’s in Chengdu | Biz weekly

If you think pandas are the most adorable creatures in the world, here is your dream job offer. You will have to move to Ya’an, Sichuan Province – fortunately KLM offers direct flights to nearby Chengdu – and there is a warning, according to the employer: “It is not an easy job”. Job description: taking care of pandas.

The job ad by the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center in Sichuan province is for real. You will be required to take care of panda cubs, this may include bottle feeding and monitoring their general health.

What is the pay? The center offers an annual salary of 200,000 yuan (US$ 32,000), an SUV for transport for a year, and free meals and accommodation. Officially this a volunteer job, an unforgettable experience that will give you great insight in wildlife conservation. You will not be doing this work on your own. Most of the volunteers at the center are from Europe, the United States and Japan.
