Express delivery in China grows by 25 per cent

China’s express delivery sector is growing fast. The businesses in this sector handled a whopping 50.5 billion parcels in 2018, over 25 per cent more than in 2017.

According to data from the State Post Bureau in China, the express delivery sector recorded a gross revenue of about €76 billion, an increase of 21.2 percent to last year.

Xinhua reports that the sector, that created over 200,000 new jobs in China in 2018, supported over €45 billion of cross-border e-commerce businesses.

According to SPB numbers, there are about 100 billion parcel deliveries worldwide each year. China accounts for half of them.
