Sometimes you check into a hotel, go to your room, open the curtains... the view is worth a thousand dollars! Here is one great example of a true ‘wow view’, taken from one of the lake-facing rooms of Hotel Angleterre & Residence. The Place du Port offers a stunning vista of Lake Geneva, posted on Instagram by Dan Hocking.

This four-star hotel is located on the shores of Lake Geneva facing the Alps. It is just 5 minutes by car or metro from the centre of Lausanne. "Spread over 6 pavilions dating from the 18th, 19th and 21st centuries, this unique hotel features contemporary décor within walls steeped in history", the hotel website explains. There is more: if lake views seem boring to you, some rooms offer a view of the Alps!
