Exeter Airport, the happiest airport on the planet

Of all airports in the world that measure customer satisfaction with the well-known ‘Smiley’ feedback technology system, the UK airport of Exeter is the happiest. The system, that allow customers to hit one of the ‘happy’ or ‘not happy’ buttons at various locations at the airport, showed that Exeter gather the highest scores in 160 airports across 36 countries.

HappyOrNot (www.happy-or-not.com) published its latest Airport Report based on 158 million data-points from HappyOrNot smiley terminals all over the world. Passengers travelling through Exeter Airport scored ‘happy’ in 88.66% compared to an average across all airports of 76.52%. Other happy airports are Cork in Ireland and Rome's Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, which tied for second place with 88.45%, followed by Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (87.35%);

The positive ratings made Andrew Bell, chief executive of Regional & City Airports, which owns Exeter Airport, a happy man. Airport-World quoted Bell, saying: “This is a tremendous achievement by Exeter Airport and underpins the customer-focused ethos that we promote across our regional UK airport network.
