Heathrow’s super umbrella artwork

The UK may be a destination that is blessed with lots of rainy weather, but that is not why a canopy of brightly colored umbrellas was recently launched at Heathrow. The eye-catching umbrellas are there for a good cause.

The ‘Umbrella Heathrow’ project was initiated to raise awareness of neuro-developmental disorders, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), autism, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dyspraxia.

You will come across the photogenic art display in the arrivals area in Heathrow’s Terminal 5. The installation is part of an education program with participating local schools to raise awareness about ADHD and autism.

“Umbrella Heathrow is committed to ensuring that all 80 million passengers travelling through the airport each year are able to do so in the way they choose”, AirportWorld reports. Earlier on, the ‘Umbrella Project’ was located at Church Alley in Liverpool – where it became the ‘most Instagrammed street’ in the world during its debut summer.
