The brand new Kerry Hotel of Shangri-La group is the first hotel to open on the Kowloon waterfront in two decades. This new so-called ‘urban resort’ features 546 guestrooms, several restaurants and other qualities that makes it a great business hotel, including over 1000 pieces of contemporary Asian art.

Its views are part of the attraction of the Kerry Hotel. At the bustling harbor front Dockyard, more than 60 per cent of guestrooms have views across the harbor to the Hong Kong skyline. The Kerry boasts one of Hong Kong’s best places-to-be after business hours: its premier Red Sugar bar features breathtaking after-dark views from its 270-degree wraparound terrace.

There has not been much business hotel news from Hong Kong for a few years, but things seem to be changing. According to TTG Asia, land-scarce Hong Kong will embrace a new wave of luxury five-star hotels starting later this year when The Murray, Hong Kong, a Niccolo Hotel opens later this year with 336 rooms, followed by the 398-room Rosewood Hong Kong and the 129-room St Regis Hong Kong next year.
