‘New’ Mandarin Oriental Ritz Madrid ready for bookings

Following an extensive restauration, the 110-years-old Ritz Hotel in Madrid is ready to re-emerge as the new Mandarin Oriental Ritz. While construction companies are working on the finishing touch, the hotel is now ready for business.

The original hotel was designed and built under the supervision of legendary hotelier César Ritz. While maintaining the Belle Époque style of the original building, the restoration has brought the hotel’s facilities and services to the 2020 level. The 100 rooms and 53 suites if the new hotel have a sophisticated contemporary residential style. They have coffee-coloured wooden floors, mood lighting, elegant furnishings and large en-suite bathrooms.

TravelDailyMedia reports that, under the management of Mandarin Oriental, the hotel boasts five restaurants and bars. Of these restaurants, the signature Quique Dacosta restaurant, overlooking the famous hotel garden, is set to be a destination in its own right.

The Mandarin Oriental Ritz is located within the ‘Golden Triangle of Art’, close to the Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Reina Sofía Museum of Modern Art.
