Pod hotels continue to conquer major business cities. The micro-hotel concept is further expanding its footprint at America’s east coast. The new Pod Brooklyn has just opened its doors in the heart of the lively Williamsburg (Brooklyn, NY) neighbourhood.

Earlier on, Pod hotels became locally famous on Manhattan and in Washington DC, with hotels Pod 51, Pod 39 & Pod DC opening. Pod Brooklyn offers a micro-hotel concept. The secret of the hotel chain’s success is in its modular rooms, each about 100 square feet (just over 9 square metres). In this space, a guest has queen and bunk bed configurations with features like built-in storage and high-tech amenities, for a fair price. Most rooms come with large windows and include blackout and noise blocking shades.

The Pod Brooklyn offers numerous courtyards, rooftops, and private event spaces with connecting glass hallways, for guest, as a report by BreakingTravelNews describes, “seeking a wallet-friendly, interactive experience that encourages discovery.” As the rooms are quite small, guests that need to get work done can find their spot at the mezzanine, which provides a flexible work and lounge space offering small bites and coffee during the day.
