Silvercar, a new way to rent a car

Business travellers arriving at Los Angeles International Airport can now enjoy the car rental services of Silvercar. Or, as the company describes it - 'Car rental that does not suck'. The app-based car rental operation has launched its service for travelers renting at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX); it is Silvercar’s sixth location since it launched 10 months ago.

The Silvercar concept is different to what most business travellers are used to. It has eliminated “many of the hassles that have plagued this industry for years”. When you reserve a Silvercar, you get a silver Audi A4 every time. It is the only car in the fleet. Silvercar offers a downloadable app that gives you control over the entire experience, from accessing your car to receiving your receipt. Wireless, paperless. “Simply download the app, create a reservation, update your profile, and walk to your car”, Silvercar promises. Renters will receive their electronic receipt by the time they return the car to the parking lot at the airport. There is no counter, no gate checkpoint before you leave the parking lot, and no employee with a hip-mounted printer giving out receipts when you return your car.
