In London, the former Camden Town Hall building has been transformed into a trendy, modern escape. The new hotel, The Standard, is now open for guests.

Some regard The Standard in St. Pancras the hottest hotel in London. Touring The Standard, Travel+Leisure magazine noticed “a dose of hipness unparalleled in the capital” and even described “the décor as Bond-like, Austin Powers-ish, Mad-Men-esque — in other words, 1960s/70s psychedelia meets 21st-century cool.”

The Standard, London has 266 rooms in 42 unique styles ranging from Cosy Core rooms to terraced suites with outdoor bathtubs overlooking St Pancras station. The rooms are cool and stylish, fitted with a Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth speaker, a generously stocked mini-bar, a large TV and trendy décor.

The hotel’s 10th-floor restaurant, Decimo, is definitely worth a mention. It features a Spanish-Mexican theme, mezcal-infused cocktails, and plenty of cacti and open-fire cooking.

The restaurant has a rooftop terrace offering 360 degree views of the city.

The Herald Scotland reports that, for more casual dining, the Double Standard serves hearty bar food, draught beers and classic cocktails.
