12x Airbus A220 for Delta - 25% better fuel efficiency
Delta Air Lines is investing in 12 additional A220-300 aircraft to offer passengers the in-flight experience of a widebody aircraft, while saving 25 percent on fuel per flight, compared to the aircraft they will replace.

Operating the quiet and comfortable Airbus A220 aircraft is the latest step towards Delta’s ongoing upgrade and streamlining of its fleet and investing in more sustainable aircraft.
According to a statement by Delta, “these additional aircraft in the A220 family are an excellent investment for our customers and employees and will be fundamental as we work toward a more sustainable future for air travel.” The amenity-rich 130-seat narrow body offers customers the in-flight experience of a widebody aircraft. On this aircraft, Delta will fly its customers traveling domestically and to its coastal hubs.
Delta was the U.S. launch customer for the A220 when it was launched. According to Airbus, the A220 bridges the gap between single-aisle and regional aircraft, and complements Delta’s A320 family fleet by providing short field performance with long range.
