Schiphol serious about green future – Sustainability Advisory Board

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one the first airports to have a Sustainability Advisory Board. The role of this recently installed independent board is to provide ideas and advice on how to further decarbonize the airport, both at request of the airport and on its own initiative.

The initiative comes from the desire to gather independent thinkers to reflect on Schiphol’s ambitions to make aviation more sustainable. Sustainability is of the utmost urgency to Schiphol and the aviation sector, and the next few years will be crucial in realising those ambitions.

AirlineRGS reports that Airport management also intends to present plans and initiatives and ask for feedback. Among the members of the board are Jos Cozijnsen (Climate Neutral Group), Elske Doets (Owner & President Doets Reizen) and Li An Phoa (Nyenrode Business University). KLM’s Karel Bockstael (VP Sustainability KLM) has also been invited to participate in the meetings.
