What is SAF?
SAF is a jet fuel, made from renewable sources like used cooking oil and a durable substitute to fossil fuel. It blends perfectly with conventional jet fuel and fits all engines of all aircraft, without impacting current processes or operations.
SAF proactively reduces emissions by at least 75% over the entire life cycle compared to fossil fuel and it contributes to a circular economy. In our commitment to reduce our carbon footprint, Air France and KLM only use SAF that is truly sustainable and certified as such.
Why work together?
Today, less than 0.1% of the roughly 300 million tons of jet fuel used by commercial airlines is SAF. To make a significant impact on aviation’s overall carbon emissions, we need your support.
