High-tech amenities for a more comfortable stay

Modern business hotels offer innovative features to its tech-savvy travel clientele. Forbes listed some recently launched high-tech features. One great example is Hotel 1000 in downtown Seattle. In this hotel, you don’t have to hang a “Do Not Disturb” sign on your doorknob. Sensors in the room show someone is in there. The cleaners skip it and move on.

  • Hotel 1000 also offers a ‘virtual golf club’ that lets you practice your swing in the simulated environment of any of 50 courses from around the world. 
  • If you are a Starwood Preferred Guest members, you will soon be able to download a hotel app on mobile device that will open the door to your rooms. Losing your key is no problem. Now try not to lose your phone…
  • The iPad app of Boston’s Hyatt Regency allows meeting planners to select equipment and chairs they want to use in a conference room and visualize the results.
  • At the Aloft Cupertino in California, guests get Apple TV internet-streaming boxes in their rooms.
  • The Mira Hong Kong provides a smartphone to its guests, so they won’t be assessed roaming charges.
