For the first time, a Chinese insurer has launched new prevention products to lower risk from top killer heart diseases. New China Life Insurance launched a tailor-made insurance plan to help prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
New China Life targets diseases with high incidence, specifically related to the heart and brain, that are the number one killer for Chinese last year. In numbers, these diseases are overtaking tumors and other illnesses, leading to over 1 million deaths every year.
Shanghai Daily reports that China has been the world’s second largest market for health care industries since 2013. In 2020, the sector’s size contributes to over 10 percent of the country’s GDP by 2020.
