Shanghai, ‘product launch city’

Brands and manufacturers that want to introduce new products should use Shanghai as their launching platform. Shanghai is pitching itself as the ideal city to debut new products as well as open new stores and offices.

The city will foster the development of new platforms to debut certain products such as cars, costumes, cosmetics and electronic devices, Shanghai Daily reports. Becoming the city of choice for global debuts is part of the three-year action plan for the Shanghai Shopping brand that was introduced recently.

To support the offering of Shanghai as ‘product launch city’, it will establish professional agencies to provide services in terms of media, advertising and promotions for brands which are willing to launch their new products in the city. The newspaper reports that Shanghai claims to be the biggest retailing city for consumer products in the world.
