Are you working hard to reach African consumers? Try Facebook, that is currently successfully penetrating the African market. According to recent figures, half of Africa's 200-million internet users were accessing Facebook on a regular basis in June 2014.
"We now have 100-million people coming to Facebook every month across the African continent with more than 80% using mobile devices," says Facebook’s Nicola Mendelsohn, vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
For most African Facebook users mobile devices are the way to find new information, and share their experiences in the world. Therefore, Facebook is committed to crafting advertising and interaction solutions specifically for mobile in the continent’s high-growth markets. According to Mendelsohn, Facebook is “partnering with clients and agencies to test these mobile-first solutions and work together to deliver rich brand messages at lower data costs through solutions such as bandwidth targeting or new products.”
