China will build a multi-hub national logistics network

In an effort to increase capacity and efficiency in national logistics, China intends to build a large number of national logistics hubs, with 15 hubs to be finished in 2018. The aim is to develop an efficient, high-capacity nationwide network.

The implementation plan for the hubs and network has been released by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Transport.

The new national logistics hubs will be built on existing logistics centres, that have proven to have a good infrastructure, strong market demand and huge growth potential.

Shanghai Daily reports that all in all, China will develop and build about 30 national logistics hubs by 2020. Five years later, there will be 150.
