The world’s largest hotel

MGM Grand in Las Vegas will soon lose its title of the world’s largest hotel. The Abraj Kudai in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, will take over the title in 2017.

The Abraj Kudai complex will house 10,000 The world’s largest hotelrooms. With a total site area of approximately 60,000 m² and total built-up area of around 1.4 million m², the project is a residential and commercial complex that consists of a large podium topped by 12 towers. The hotel complex will be built at a cost of € 3.15 billion.

The brand new hotel will feature rooftop helipads, a convention centre, shopping malls and restaurants. It will be located just two kilometres from Mecca’s holy mosque Masjid al-Haram.

MGM Grand in Vegas currently has 6,198 rooms, followed closely by the First World Hotel in Malaysia with 6,118 rooms.
