Crossing time zones can cause jet lag. Some people though don’t seem to be worried much about jet lag, because they know how to prevent them. These are their secrets of how to get their internal biological clock to match up with the new time zone.

When your body experiences a temporary sleep disorder – called jet  – you experience fatigue, headaches, irritability or lack of concentration.  Here are some great tips to avoid these problems.

  • Gradually adjust your body to a new time zone. So make sure you get a good sleep on the night before you fly, especially if you are traveling eastward. If it's a more drastic change, it wouldn't hurt to move up your bedtime to start the change gradually.
  • Jet lag is partially induced by the changes in light and dark exposure during your day in transit. It is recommended that manually adjusting the amount of light you receive during the day can help minimize the symptoms caused by jet lag. If you are traveling eastward, keeping sunglasses on hand or dozing off with an eye mask can help your body fight off prolonged light exposure.
  • Drink more water! Plane trips can be extremely dehydrating which can lead to a more aggressive manifestation of irritability.
  • Don’t take drinks that can disrupt your sleep cycle, such as alcohol or coffee.
