Aliko Dangote (62) was Africa’s wealthiest man in 2019. The Nigerian industrial entrepreneur even became $4.3 billion richer last year. Dangote’s investments in cement, flour and sugar have yielded rich revenues.
Dangote’s current net worth is almost $15 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. That makes him the 96th wealthiest man in the world.
BusinessTimesAfrica reports that the Nigerian businessman has made his fortune with a range of companies. Dangote Cement Plc, a Nigerian multinational publicly traded cement manufacturer has plants and import terminals in about nine other African countries.
In 2020, Aliko Dangote hopes to complete one of the world's largest oil refineries in Nigeria. The plant is expected to impact Nigeria's fuel consumption records and the local economy.
