Not Jack Ma (Alibaba) or Wang Jianlin (Wanda Group) but Pony Ma, chairman and CEO of China’s internet giant Tencent is the richest man in China.
According to the Hurun List, that tracks the wealth of China’s entrepreneurs, the 47-year-old Pony Ma's wealth is estimated to be around US$47 billion.
With his wealth, he ranks number 15 in the list of the world’s richest people, rising 23 places from last year’s ranking. In Hurun’s China list, Hui Kayan (60), CEO of Guanzhou Evergrande Group, comes second. Hong Kong's Lee Shau Kee (Henderson Real Estate) ranked third in China. Other famous rich in China’s Top 10 are Jack Ma and Wang Jianlin.
