LA: new NoMad hotel in an historical setting

The original NoMad Hotel in New York is a highly hip place and a successful hotel. Now NoMad is taking its concept to downtown Los Angeles. The NoMad Hotel Downtown LA hotel has touched down in the former Bank of Italy headquarters.

The original Gianni Place bank building was constructed in 1920 and the new hotel has preserved much of the old glory of the place. The building’s gold and blue Italianate lobby ceiling has been fully restored and serves as inspiration for the entire styling. As the hotel puts it to its new customers: “The NoMad Downtown LA Hotel naturally balances the integrity and character of the Neoclassical landmark with a contemporary California design sensibility.”

The LA property is the second NoMad hotel. It offers 241 rooms and several dining options, including an elegant restaurant, a library, an all-day cafe and a formal dining room. Choose the 12th floor in the elevator and the doors will open to a lovely rooftop pool with sweeping city views.

NoMad Los Angeles is conveniently located two blocks away from the Purple and Red subway lines, providing easy access to Hollywood and Santa Monica.
