The last Air France flight of the Concorde supersonic aircraft that took place in October 2003 may not have been the very last. Aviation enthusiasts have found funding for a plan to take the Concorde back to the skies.

A group of Concorde experts have secured financing that may enable the aircraft to recommence flights by the end of this decade. Members of Club Concorde – consisting of former Concorde pilots, charterers and frequent fliers and others – has access to £120 million. The plan is to recommence flights by 2019, to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the inaugural Concorde flight.
