Zurich ranks first on the world’s 15 most expensive cities list

ZurichZurich, New York City and Geneva are the world’s most expensive cities for visitors. The three cities rank highest in the latest price and earnings report, published by Swiss global financial services company UBS.

The UBS report shows how far a dollar will take a business traveller or tourist in a great number of world cities. In comparing the purchasing power in 71 cities around the world, UBS listed the 15 most expensive cities in the world. Business Insider reports that the researchers looked at the cost of an overnight stay in a first-class hotel for two people, adding two restaurant dinners, a bottle of wine, a taxi ride, two public transport tickets, a rental car, paperback book, phone call, and postage for a letter. Tokyo, Oslo and Paris also ranked high on UBS world city purchasing power list.
