Hyatt has just opened its 9th hotel in New York City – right in the middle of the Herald Square neighbourhood and on the edge of NY Fashion District. The 122-room Hyatt Herald Square New York is only five blocks from Bryant Park, and is within walking distance of Times Square.

NYC - Hyatt’s number nine reflects printing and fashion industriesThe design of the hotel draws inspiration from the rich history of the printing and fashion industries that were based around Herald Square in the 19th and 20th century. This Hyatt, located on West 31st Street between 5th Avenue and Broadway, combines fashion and industrial newspaper printing elements, like bright pops of colours, glass, custom fabrics and millwork, reclaimed wood, letterpress blocks and pounded metal.

The hotel offers three restaurants and bars. The lobby features the artwork of nine local artists and offers an espresso bar with café counter, an on-site market for on-the-go snacks and a library-themed lounge, bar and private dining space. The hotels are inspired by printing and fashion. An in-room letterpress block feature includes a quote from famed fashion designers. Letterpress blocks are also used to indicate the room numbers on all 122 guestrooms, including the Penthouse suite located on the 18th floor.
