Ports of Jersey is considering offering discounted landing fees to airlines using sustainable aircraft or fuels, demonstrating its commitment to carbon neutrality. The government's Policy Framework for the Ports Sector encourages exploring tariffs to support cleaner technologies.

Jersey Evening Post reports that the government recently published its Policy Framework for the Ports Sector, highlighting a series of goals intended to safeguard services, deliver investment in critical infrastructure and continue the development of the Island’s ports.

Furthermore, the organization has actively collaborated with Universal Hydrogen and Blue Islands, conducting trials for hydrogen-fueled aircraft. The initiative aims to incentivize sustainable travel and aligns with Ports' goal of reaching net-zero by 2030. The government also considers a "carbon tax" on private jets to fund the £300 million plan for net-zero.
